Owen Hawkins Obituary, Death – Owen MacLeod HAWKINS was born on November 11, 2001 and passed away on May 1, 2021. We are sending along the sad news that Owen Hawkins passed away unexpectedly on May 1st, 2021, and do so with a heavy heart. Owen is survived by his beloved mother and father, Maureen Gunhouse and Joe Hawkins; his grandfather, Roly Hawkins; his cousins Tora Bedard, Patrick, Tom, and Rob Langstaff; his aunts and uncles Leslie Hawkins, Scott Langstaff, Cheryl Gunhouse, Phil Bedard, and Amrit; and a large group of cherished friends.
His grandmothers, Kaye Hawkins and Phyllis Rodrigue, as well as his grandpa, Philip Rodrigue, and his uncle, Peter Hawkins, all passed away before him. His cousin, Junior Bedard, was the first to pass away. Owen’s 19 years were jam-packed with remarkable achievements and amazing opportunities that lead to some truly unforgettable experiences. Owen was an accomplished athlete who had a particular fondness for freestyle skiing (he competed in the sport and later became a coach), dirt biking, Honda automobiles, welding and fabrication, as well as hanging out with his buddies.
You could always find Owen on the slopes, whether it was during the winter on a “pow day” or during the summer on a sweltering day, throwing down some flips. Owen will be remembered for his radiant grin, his profound love for his friends and family, as well as his compassion and thoughtfulness toward everyone. If he put his mind to it, he could accomplish anything. As the saying goes, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” Owen, may you rest in peace knowing that we hope there is another exciting journey waiting for you elsewhere in the world. Your radiant spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of everyone you ever crossed paths with.
