Mary Jane Mullen Death, Obituary – Mary Jane Mullen, the Lenape family secretary, passed away today, and the family has been left with a deep sense of grief as a result. Her death has left a huge void in the hearts of the several members of the Lenape Family with whom she collaborated. Mary Jane was the personification of everything that is beautiful and right in this world. She had an honest affection for everyone associated with Lenape, from current students to former employees and graduates.
She was always prepared to offer a comforting embrace, a sweet kiss, and a piece of candy to anyone who might have needed it. We join the countless thousands of people who are crushed by this loss and participate in their sorrow of Mary Jane, whose influence on our school and everyone in it has been immense for more than six decades, and we will miss her terribly. Getting through the stages of sorrow is never easy and is different for every single person.
On Monday, May 15, beginning at 7:30 am, members of the Burlington County School Crisis Response Team as well as other school counselors will be present in the Lenape Media Center to support students and staff members who are having difficulty processing this tremendous loss. There is no need to make an appointment. If you have any questions or concerns about how to talk to your child about this loss at home, I encourage you to get in touch with Mr. Castor, the Lenape Supervisor of Counseling, at 609-654-5111, extension 338300, or your child’s counselor.
You can reach him by calling 609-654-5111. We are aware that each pupil will respond uniquely to the unfortunate news. Because of this, we have included some resources to our website that you might find useful in determining how your child will react in the days to come. These materials can be found here. In your name, we would like to express our sincere condolences and concerns to Mary Jane’s entire family during this difficult time.
The Lenape Family will be informed as soon as information regarding the services for Mary Jane Mullen is ready for dissemination. As we come to terms with the death of a dear friend and a person who exemplified everything that is great about Lenape High School, I ask that all of the members of the Lenape Family look out for one another.
With a heavy heart, It was Tony Cattani.
