Gareth Thomas Obituary, Gareth Thomas Funeral Notice

Gareth Thomas Obituary, Death – The Royal Air Force has expressed its profound sorrow at the news that Sergeant Gareth Thomas passed away in Cyprus due to natural causes while he was serving with the Joint Force Support (Middle East) mission. Thomas was stationed there as part of the Joint Force Support (Middle East) operation. The news was conveyed with an overwhelming sense of regret. Later on today, Sergeant Thomas will be driven to the Royal Air Force installation in Brize Norton from wherever he is currently located. In July of 1997, Sergeant Thomas joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) Regiment Gunners after finishing both phases one and two of his training at RAF Honington. This allowed him to become a member of the RAF Regiment Gunners.

His first deployment, which took place in January 1998 and was with No. 15 Sqn RAF Regiment, was followed by an appointment with 26 Sqn RAF Regiment in March 2003. Both of his assignments were in the Royal Air Force. Sergeant Thomas was reselected in the month of January 2004, the same month that he began Supply Basic Training at RAF Halton. Following that, in the month of May in 2004, they were moved to the RAF Brize Norton Logistics Sqn. After receiving a promotion to the rank of corporal in November 2008, he reported for duty at Stafford with the B Flight of the Tactical Supply Wing (TSW). During his time as a member of TSW, he was able to finish an operational deployment with flying colours.

Everyone in the military knew him as Gaz, and when he wasn’t performing his primary duty, he would throw himself into a variety of auxiliary and connected tasks, all with the goal of making the lives of those who worked around him in the military a little bit easier. Gaz was a vital component of the social activities that took place not only inside Logistics Squadron but also throughout the entirety of the station. These activities included both formal and informal get-togethers. The skills that Gaz possessed in the kitchen earned him a lot of respect. Gaz was a competent cook, and as a result, he would make certain that the most delicious sausages and burgers were served at any event that he was in charge of catering. When they got together for social events, the vast majority of his squadron members were fed by him, and he did not receive any criticism for this action. He won the grilling competition hands down, there was no question about it!travel throughout the nation of Afghanistan.
