Betty James Obituary, Death – The Coroner’s Office in Aiken County is looking into a fatality that occurred after a gunshot and seems to be a suicide by hanging. According to the statements made by the officials from the Graniteville sheriff’s department, the event took place within a home that was located on the 500 block of Rennie Street.

Officials said that deputies were summoned to the property after a caller reported finding his mother and brother dead from gunshot wounds inside the residence. Both victims were found by the caller to be inside the home. The person who called was the surviving son of both the mother and the sibling who had passed away. According to the reports, both of the deceased individuals’ bodies were discovered inside the apartment where they had been staying.

When the deputies got at the scene, it was discovered that the victims were Betty James, who was 86 years old, and her son, Joe James, who was 68 years old. Joe James was the son of Betty James. Both victims had a single gunshot wound when they were discovered, and both victims were pronounced dead at the site of the crime. The crime scene investigators found both victims with a single gunshot wound.

After fatally wounding his mother with a handgun, Joe James, 68, turned the weapon on himself and took his own life by shooting himself in the head with the firearm. He took the gun to his own head and shot himself in the head. The investigation into the subject was brought to a successful conclusion with the finding. The information that was provided by the Coroner’s Office shows that an autopsy will be conducted on Betty James in Newberry; however, there are no arrangements being made at this time to do an autopsy on Joe James.
